Functional Nano and Opto-electronics Laboratory (FNOL) is in the process of establishing world class facilities for  carrying out research on physics of semiconductor materials devices and nano-structures ranging from material growth to device fabrication and characterization related to optoelctronics in the Department of Physics @ Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Berhampur. IISER Berhampur is an institution of national importance funded by Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD), Govt. of India.

FNOL's research focus is primarily on solution processed organic and organic-inorganic hybrid systems like conjugated polymers, small molecules, quantum dots, nano-crystals, low dimensional perovskite analogues. Employ these novel solution processed semiconductor layers as active materials in different opto-electronic devices for flexible applications with strong interest in emerging technologies for light emitting (LED) and photovoltaic (PV) device applications.
